At Communion by John Newton Brown (1828)

O, WHY, in this season of gladness, should wander
	One thought of my heart, blessed Savior, from thee?
Seal, seal me thine own, while I silently ponder
	Thy love to a sinner and outcast like me!
Thou hast sought me, and saved me; and now at thy table
	I meet thee and thine, in the wine and the bread;
O, in this sweet communion thy servant enable
	To learn the devotion that follows the dead!

John Newton Brown, 1828.
